... For hostile activity and other legal offences, 11 ecclesiastic-dissenter
leaders, being in surreptitios position, were prosecuted. The illegal
activity of many religious extremists was cut. Some printing and
distributing centres and book storages were annihilated. As a result
of the undertaken measures the activity of about 170 illegal "schools"
for religious education on the territory of republics in Mid-Asia
and North Caucasus, was cut.
1275 authors and distributers of anonymous anti-Sovietic and calumniatory
matters were revealed. 97 of them were prosecuted.
