Condemning communism - the Bulgarian example
by Professor Plamen S. Tzvetkov, Ph.D.

This web site was the result of the spontaneous initiative of a group of participants in political discussions in Bulgarian cyberspace. It was built in support of the draft resolution on the international condemnation of communism, sponsored by Rene van der Linden at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe - to inform about the draft, to solicit support for it and to collect favorable opinions on its pages. Another purpose of the site is, as time permits, to display information on the crimes of communist regimes, mostly from existing web sites containing documents and testimonies about the decades of communist rule in many countries of the world.

The site would not be possible without the voluntary collective work of people with different political opinions but all convinced of the need for awareness and memory of the communist past.

The translations presenting the Bulgarian testimonies to the world were made by Dr. Neli Hadjiyska, Dr. Valentin Hadjiyski, Boyan Damyanov, Dora Atanasova, Mariana Popova, Plamen Simeonov, Mihail Pramatarov, Milen Radev, Veronika Bikova, Daniela Gorcheva, Marina Ivanova, Irma Dimitrova, Borislava Hristova, Isabelle Georgieva, Vanya Ilieva, Rumiana Mincheva, Roman Dimitrov, Christo Moskovsky.
Document and source collection - Rostislava Trenkova, Vessela Ilieva, Ivo Lalov.
Technical layout and editing - Borislav Scotchev.
Site architecture - Vania Valkova.

Board of Advisors: Prof. Plamen S. Tzvetkov, Prof. Dimitar Nenow, Prof. Venko Beschkov, Dr. Petko Nikolov, Todor Velchev, Dr. Vesselin Methodiev, and Vassil Stanilov.
